About me

Welcome and thank you for reading my profile. If you are experiencing a difficult or challenging time in your personal or work life it can help to talk to a professional counsellor. I am a professionally qualified (FDA), experienced Counsellor, Psychotherapist &  Clinical Supervisor in Southampton, I provide confidential counselling and psychotherapy to adolescents, adults, couples and small family groups.

Knowing how to choose the right counsellor can feel confusing, so to aid you in your search I offer an initial 30 minute consultation free of charge. This will give us the opportunity to meet and discuss your requirements and for you to ensure that you are comfortable for us to work together.

As a counsellor I can provide you with the time and space to explore difficult feelings in an environment that is confidential and free from judgement. I may comment on what you say offering a professional perspective, but this is done with respect for your own viewpoint and with the aim of helping you deal with specific problems. It is my role to support you and help you discover new ways to overcome your difficulties.

I have extensive experience working with clients with multiple issues including, PTSD, generalised anxiety, relationship issues, stress, depression, bereavement, low confidence and self esteem  (see more extensive list below), and work as an integrative counsellor and therapist which means that I am able to tailor my approach to suit your needs.

My practice is located in West End, within easy reach of anywhere in the surrounding areas. Parking is available.

I have extensive experience in coaching and mentoring with charities and in a corporate setting.

I hold a Diploma in Clinical Supervision and have experience supervising counsellors (both qualified and trainee), mental health practitioners, and non-clinical wellbeing advisors. I offer both individual and group supervision, in person or online, to suit your needs. My supervision is collaborative and although my core modalities are Transactional Analysis and Integrative, I work with supervisee’s from all different modalities and levels of experience.

My qualifications include:

I am trained, qualified and experienced in helping clients with varied and multiple issues, and provide both long term psychotherapy and short term counselling and CBT to adults and couples.

Private practice for client and supervision work , Clinical lead for a local 6th form college. Much of my experience has been gained whilst working for an agency service as a counsellor in and around the Winchester area and as a coach/mentor for a large corporate body.

I also work for a charity coordinating a mentoring project for homeless young people and as a specialist support mentor for University students.

In addition to general counselling and psychotherapy, I am trained and qualified to work with clients with eating disorders, bereavement and those experiencing trauma such as victims of rape and sexual abuse. I also have extensive experience working with clients suffering from depression, stress and anxiety including work related stress. I have undertaken advanced training as a couple/relationship counsellor and offer counselling to couples and small family groups.

I have a full disclosure DBS check and I am also fully insured.

I offer a free initial 30 minute session and if we decide to work together.
